Project Manager

DeSilva Gates Construction, Northern California’s established heavy civil engineering contractor, is seeking Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to join our team in the Bay Area and Sacramento market regions.  We have an extensive portfolio of public and private projects that will provide you with the opportunity to challenge and grow in your career.   

Responsibilities: 

Reporting to a Construction Manager, the responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: 

  • Manage one or more direct reports.
  • Understand our client’s needs and the scope of the project. 
  • Estimate resources needed to complete projects.
  • Oversee CPM, 3 Week, and 9 Day schedules. 
  • Pre-costing activities of work. 
  • Manage the cost report, AR and AP aspect of assigned projects.
  • Conduct site safety surveys to evaluate safety program implementation. 
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance to ensure Cal-OSHA compliance. 
  • Implement and enforce company and client safety policies. 
  • Other duties as directed by the Construction Manager. 

Qualifications: 

  • An Undergraduate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering. 
  • 7-10 years’ experience managing civil engineering projects and jobsite safety.  
  • Ability to serve as a positive leader to employees, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Able to read and understand Plans and Specifications.   
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Plan Grid and scheduling software.  Ability to learn new programs.   
  • Able to work in team and independent settings. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Able to communicate with internal and external personnel of all levels.  Capable of negotiating with clients.
  • Able to effectively multi-task and proactively problem solve in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.  
  • Required to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
