Santana West Phase 1: Construction of an 8-level office building and 5-level parking structure that required two simultaneous shored excavations, 30-ft and 15-ft, to be dug on a tight urban footprint.
Together, the excavations amounted to 125,000 CY of material loaded at a peak rate of 300 loads per day into a consistent supply of trucks provided by our sister company, Double D Transportation.
The urban site presented additional challenges of traffic congestion, restricted work hours and the coordination of multiple subcontractors – all of which were proactively overcome by coordinating the details collaboratively between our Project Management team and Devcon’s.
As the project nears completion, our crews will fine grade and pave surface parking lots and thoroughfares to tie in the project to the surrounding streets. Once complete, the 2,852-stall parking structure will support patrons of Santana Row, surrounding office buildings and the Historical Landmark Century 21 Theater.
